Macintosh OS X Global Roaming Internet Access Setup Instructions
Configuring your Global Internet Access connection is easy and takes less than 5 minutes.
You will need one of our global Internet access numbers to connect to the Internet. If you don’t
already know the number, click the Access Numbers tab on our website to
search by area code or by state.

Open the System Preferences from
your Dock or by clicking the Apple icon at the upper left corner of the screen
and selecting System Preferences.

Double-click the Network icon.

In the Location pop-up list,
click New Location and name the
location
iRove.
Click OK.

In the Show pop-up list, select
Internal Modem.

Click the TCP/IP tab, if not
already selected.

You should leave the Domain Name Servers
and Search Domains blank.

In the Configure pop-up list,
choose Using PPP.

Click the PPP tab.

In Service Provider enter
iRove.

In Telephone Number, enter your
local access number (see note below).

In Account Name, enter your
username along with the following
prefix: bdu/username
(see note below).

In Password, enter your
password.

Click the Modem tab.

Make sure the correct modem is
selected.

Make sure Enable error correction and compression
in modem is NOT selected.

Turn Sound on or off to hear
your modem dial.

Select Tone dialing.

Check Show modem status in menu
bar.

Click the Apply Now button when
finished.
Entering Access Numbers: Enter the access number the same
way you would enter it if you were dialing the number on a telephone. If you
don't need to dial the area code, do not enter the area code.
Entering Your Username: When you manually configure your
connection, you must include the bdu/ prefix with your username. In the
Username field, enter your username in the following format: bdu/username
Connecting and Disconnecting
Double-click the shortcut on your desktop and then click Connect.
When connected, you will see a message that says you are now connected with
iRove–nothing else will happen automatically. To go to a Web site, open Internet
Explorer from your Programs menu.
Option 1: At the menu bar, click the modem icon. In the menu
that appears, click Connect. A password dialog appears if you did not
save your password. Type your password and click OK.
Option 2:
Open your Applications folder by double-clicking your hard drive icon and then
clicking on Applications in the top menu bar. To connect to the Internet,
double-click the Internet Connect application. Double-check the phone
number, username, and enter your password if needed. Then click Connect to
dial up to the Internet.
